We got there nice and early. Big mistake, it was cold...

I want to do Flying Buttress Direct (HVS 5b) I said... (big mistake)

Up to the roof. A number 10 and number 6 nut in the vertical crack...me 'ands are cold! Try and get in position... ...reach.. me arms are too short!! Got 'im! Now what?..
Hmmm... let me think?! Let go with feet, that's what!! Now how do I get my heel up there... ..reach up with me hand, bloody hell, can't get a grip. Heel up... ...got it... no...! Pull up man... aargh!
Damn... on me arse again. (Three more attempts and I still didn't do it!) Burnzee starts up the slab Under the roof... ...reaches... ...pulls... ...get a grip...
...up goes the heel.. ..lookout, I think you're legs caught oiver the rope... ...wahaay..legs akimbo!! Good effort that man! Russ Beavon gets his induction into grit for the first time... ..makes all the right moves (Flying Buttress VDiff)... ..and romps up with the greatest of ease!!!
Steve leads Hollybush Crack (VDiff)... ...look, no hands... ...and all done, bar the shouting! Stuart Burns, seconds Hollybush... ...pauses to see just how Queersville is done... ...then finishes the job off!
Did I tell you that Steve led Central Trinity.. ...his first VS 4c lead... ...well, he did... ..and here's the evidence! We were all so impressed, that we all had a go too!... Well, it would have been rude not to...
Tim promised to fall off it... but let us all down by cruising it! Sharon followed.. ...makes it look easy...(note leopardskin chalk bag)! Oh look, it's the Flying Buttress Clowns!!! I knew there was something wrong with these pants!
Err.. Tim, might be a good idea to place a bit of pro now! Never mind, one piece of gear is enough for anyone! Tim tops out on Narrow Buttress (VS 4c) 'You think that was good? Watch this, wee lad.' says Sharon, as she picks up the gauntlet! First couple of moves sorted... ...looking good so far...
...nearly there... ..it's longer than you think... ...from a different angle it looks quite dramatic ...found that lovely big finishing jug... ...it's so nice, she doesn't want to go any further! Meanwhile...it's gone bloody cold again!!
